Mongolian Cabinet members have added a new requirement to the Election Law – namely examining the mental health of the prospective parliamentary candidates. According to our sources, candidates must submit a test report on their mental health after have been examined by psychologists. If candidates fail this requirement, they cannot participate in the election.
This radical requirement to the Election Law has been discussed in parliament.
Mongolia will hold its next parliamentary election in 2020. Therefore, the State Mental Hospital will be busy testing the prospective candidates.
