A small plane, which can carry 9 passengers, will start making flights between the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar, and Selenge – the country’s northernmost province.
The reason for the decision to introduce the flight is because of the major reconstruction work on the Ulaanbaatar and Darkhan-Selenge highway, which is still ongoing because the contactors have failed to meet their winter-season deadline. This has been causing major problems. The plane will provide an emergency service for transferring patients quickly and comfortably to the capital.
The plane will use old air strip in the centre of Selenge Province. The flights will start from 25 December; there will be three per week.
