Khuumii or Mongolian throat singing is a unique and ancient song art. Although, throat singing can be traced back many years, no-one knows when it started.

Today (30 October), over 1400 khuumii singers will perform at a special concert entitled ‘Human Music’ in order to try to get into the Guinness World Records. Students from 25 secondary schools and 15 kindergartens in Khovd province, some soldiers from 123rd military unit as well as khuumii singers from Tuva and Inner Mongolia will participate in the performance. In other words, khuumii singers aged 8-83 gathered in the event.
