A Mongolian couple is reported to have died as a result of a drug overdose on 30 August in the Bayanzurkh District of Ulaanbaatar. According to police, a 29-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman died of a narcotic drug overdose. Police seized evidence including 100 ml of colorless liquid, three banknotes and some black powder. The case is being investigated by the second division of the Bayanzurkh Police Department.

Previously, an 18-year-old man died of a drug overdose in 2016.

Mongolian Police reported that 130 people have investigated over 67 drug-related cases since January, 2019; more than 80 percent of them are young people aged between 18 and 35.
