Missing in the mountains – Korean woman alive and well

A 61-year-old South Korean woman who went missing on Sunday (11 August) has safely returned to the ‘Sky Resort’, ski resort located near Ulaanbaatar after spending a night on the Bogd Khan mountain range alone. According to one source, the woman, whose surname is Lee arrived at the Sky Resort shortly after sending an SMS to her husband on Monday (12 August).

The Mongolian National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has conducted search and rescue operation after receiving a call Sunday at 5.00 p.m.

Situated near Zuunmod, about 50 km south of the Mongolian capital, Tsetsee Gun Uul (2258 m), is one of the ‘holy mountains’ in the Bogd Khaan Mountain range and the highest in the Bogd Uul region.

The Sky Resort is approximately 13 km from Ulaanbaatar and located on Bogd Khan Uul; the base is 1,379 m and extends up to 1,570 m.

How the Korean woman came to be missing still needs to be ascertained.
