Heavy rain delayed all MIAT flights at Chinggis Khaan International airport on Sunday (16 May). The flights to Seoul, Hong Kong, Beijing, Tokyo, Moscow, Berlin and Busan have been delayed for over ten hours.

The torrential rain caused other problems: some roads connecting Ulaanbaatar to the western parts of Mongolia were washed away. The following roads have been closed due to flooding;

-Ulaanbaatar-Lun Soum in Tuv Province

-Ulaanbaatar-Uvurkhangai

-Ulaanbaatar-Arvaikheer

-Ulaanbaatar-Mandalgobi
