Earlier today, 3 May, a national forum on independent journalism, dedicated to World Press Freedom Day was held. The forum, which is an annual event was held at Ulaanbaatar’s Central Palace of Cultural. A message to the journalists from President Kh.Battulga was read out by G.Uyanga, policy aide on society and human rights.

Over 100 countries are observing World Press Freedom Day under this year’s theme of “Media for Democracy: Journalism and Elections in Times of Disinformation.” The date has been marked since 1993 by the decision of the UN General Assembly.
