South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon arrived in Mongolia on Monday for a three-day visit to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

Lee Nak-yon’s official trip to Mongolia comes as the two nations prepare to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties next year.

The South Korean Premier is expected to meet with Mongolian President Kh.Battulga and his counterpart, Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh to discuss ways to promote bilateral cooperation.

Mongolia is one of the key countries in South Korea’s New Northern Policy. President Moon Jae-in’s diplomatic initiative aims at improving the strategic ties with Russia, Mongolia and other northern countries.
