Yesterday evening, a fire broke out at one of Ulaanbaatar’s main markets. The blaze occurred at the Bayanzurkh market at around 9.00 p.m. Response was swift and it was extinguished within 25 minutes. Fortunately, no one was hurt; however, six retail outlets at the market were destroyed by the flames along with their products worth of at least MNT 500 thousand each. Currently, the market has closed and a police investigation is underway.
Bayanzurkh market is located in the VI khoroo of Bayanzurkh District of the Mongolian capital in front of the former Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industries.
