Mountaineer B.Gangaamaa has been named the Best Athlete of the Year by the Mongolian Mountain Sport Federation. At the New Year ceremony, which was held 15 December, she was awarded by golden ice pick.
B.Gangaamaa is first Mongolian to have climbed all the highest summits of the seven continents over the last six years. She climbed following summits:
Mount Everest – 8848m in Asia
Mount Aconcagua – 6962m in North America
Mount Kilimanjaro – 5895m in Africa
Carstensz Pyramid – 4884m
Mount Elbrus – 5642m in Europe
Denali – 6194m in North America
Vinson Massif – 4997m in Antarctica
Mount Kosciuszko – 2228m in Australia
