According to research conducted by the National Centre for Mother and Child Health, cases of cancer have been increasing among Mongolian children. A total of 2880 children or 67 percent of all patients who were treated at the centre were diagnosed with the disease in last three years. The statement noted that cancer among children accounts for an estimated 8.5 percent of all cases in Mongolia and, sadly, is forecast to increase.
One in three children diagnosed with the disease over the last three years has stomach cancer. In total, 99 children or 30.7 percent of the 314 patients admitted to the centre in 2016 and 2017, have been found to have this form of the disease.
