A child helpline centre in Mongolia received over 120,000 calls in September for assistance. In total, 60 percent of all the calls were about reproduction information and advice on child rights. The on-line service team has been working alongside the helpline centre in connection with child abuse calls. The team has provided urgent assistance to 644 victims of child-abuse,  bringing the children to a temporary protection centre immediately after receiving the calls. At the centre the children get physical and psychological assistance. The other team then works with their parents over child abuse case.

Mongolia’s first ever nationwide, toll free, 24/7 Child Helpline 108 was launched in 2014. Children need only dial 108 on any phone to be directly linked with an operator standing by on the other end for assistance.
