The 2018 Asian Games took place successfully in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September 2018. This year, Mongolia won more medals that previously taking a total of 25 gongs (five golds, nine silvers and 11 bronzes) in Indonesia; four more than at the 2014 Asian Games which took place in Inchon.

Mongolia first competed at the Asian Games in 1974 and participated ten times in the Asian Games until 2014.
