On Saturday (1 September), Mongolian schools held an opening ceremony for the 2018-2019 academic year. Kh.Battulga, President of Mongolia attended the opening ceremony of the Sergelen Soum School in Tuv province.
During the opening ceremony, President Kh.Battulga said, that he was planning to attend new school year ceremonies of remote schools in the future.
This academic year, 597.2 thousand children will study in 814 general education schools throughout the country, 563 of which are in the provinces.
The School of Sergelen Soum was established in 1935, and now employs 14 teachers and 13 members of staff. This academic year, a total of 67 students are attending the school because most of students go to nearby Zuunmod Soum.
