Five people were injured when an intercity bus crashed in Tuv province earlier today, Friday (31 August). The bus, which was making an overnight journey from the Tosontsengel soum in Zavkhan province to Ulaanbaatar city, went off road and rolled over. The accident took place at 07.00 a.m. All those hurt in the accident have been taken to the National Trauma and Orthopaedic Research Hospital. There were a total of 42 passengers travelling in the bus. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries or fatalities.
The cause of the accident is still unknown. The driver has undergone tests – these show that he had not drunk alcohol, nor was he asleep at the wheel or speeding.
