Mongolia’s foreign trade turnover reached USD 6.3 billion in the first half of 2018, due to the rise of mineral and textile exports. According to the National Statistics Office, the foreign trade turnover increased by 26 percent on the same period in 2017.
The foreign trade balance showed a surplus as exports exceeded imports by some 900 million dollars. Mineral products and textiles exports accounted for over 95 percent of total amount. China was the largest importer of Mongolian products, the data showed.
Exports now account for more than 40% of GDP.
