Mongolia signed an economic partnership agreement with Japan in 2016 – this was the first of its kind between Ulaanbaatar and Tokyo. Today, the volume of trade between the two countries reached USD 145 million; Mongolian exports representing USD 3.7 million  .

Mongolia exports 5300 kinds of goods to Japan in return imports 7300 different items.
