Wedged between Thailand and Vietnam, the small country of Laos has long had good relations with Mongolia. The two countries are actively cooperating in tourism and health – this is now being extended to other sectors. Earlier today, MP Yo.Baatarbileg, who heads the Mongolia Laos parliamentary group received a Laotian delegation led by Agricultural Minister Bung Kuang. During the meeting, the two sides discussed projects including planting rice in Mongolia and importing rice from Laos.
As a first step, Mongolia agreed to export frozen meat to Laos in return for high quality Laotian rice.
