Former Mongolian Finance Minister S.Bayartsogt along with B.Byambasaikhan, the former director of ‘Erdenes Mongol’ LLC was released on bail on Wednesday (13 May) by decision of the Courts of the Chingeltei and Bayanzurkh Districts of Ulaanbaatar. However, the pair have been banned for leaving the country.

Former Finance Minister S.Bayartsogt has been detained since 1 April and accused of an abuse of power while making the 2009 Oyu Tolgoi Investment Agreement.

Earlier this week, Former Mongolian Prime Ministers, Ch.Saikhanbileg and S.Bayar were released on bail because of health problems and have also been banned from leaving the country. They were transferred from the 461st Detention Centre to the Second General Hospital pending the court decision.
