Earlier today (29 May), the first Ambassador of the European Union to Mongolia Traian Laurentiu Hristea presented his credentials to President Kh.Battulga.

Mongolia established diplomatic relation with the European Union on 1 August, 1989. The European Union has been represented in Mongolia since May 1991 by the EU Delegation in Beijing as a non-resident diplomatic mission. Mongolia-EU relations entered a new phase when the Framework Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation came into force. The first result was the opening of the EU Delegation in Mongolia on 2 November, 2017.
