The forest fire that broke out on 17 May in northern Mongolia has been brought under control, the authorities said today (23 May). Over 170 people with 12 fire engines and six horses have battled to control the forest fire which has been raging in the Eruu Soum of Selenge Province. The fire broke out 90 km from the soum’s administrative center due to dry conditions and spread quickly because of the windy weather.
