A popular version of the classic, ‘The Secret History of the Mongols’ has now been published in seven languages. With illustrations, the popular edition is now available in Mongolian, Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Hungarian, according to Discover the Secret History of the Mongols Foundation, commenting on Monday. ‘The Secret History of Mongols’ is one of the oldest surviving Mongolian-language historical and literary works.
The Fund for Spreading the Secret History of the Mongols to the World is also creating three series of animations based on the earliest work of Mongolian historical literature.
The Secret History of the Mongols is also a main pillar of Mongolian studies. It is a chronicle of Mongolian history written sometime in the 13th century by an unknown author and provides an account of Temujin, who was to become Chinggis Khaan and tells the story of how the Mongol Empire was created.
