‘The Voice of Mongolia’, an international reality television singing competition franchise, has been on Mongol HD TV since January and is extremely popular. The show has now received additional publicity as one of its contestants has found herself under police investigation for illegally possessing an air gun and firing it through the window of apartment block.

Voice-contestant Ts.Enguun with her father were having a good time firing the air gun on 8 May; the neighbours, however, not sharing the fun and fearing that someone might get injured by the gun-wielding contestant called the police. Unfortunately, the air gun was not registered with the Police Department, as is required under Mongolian law.

Ts.Enguun apologed with her father for firing air gun through window of apartment block. She explained that it was not her intention to promote arms.
