With its rich nomadic culture, safe surroundings, friendly locals and the outstanding features of the landscape, Mongolia is one of the world’s top magnets for tourists. To help stimulate this important sector of the economy, Ulaanbaatar Travel Expo will take place at the National Park on 2-3 June. Under the theme, ‘Travelling The Ancient Tea Road’, it is aimed at tourists, operators and anyone interested in tourism.
The event has been held for four years as a means of introducing locals and tourists to the cheapest ways of travelling around Mongolia and to foreign countries.
Revenue from the Mongolian tourism sector reached USD 400 million in 2017 as more than two million Mongolians travelled through their homeland. In addition, the number of foreigners visiting the country reached 470,000 last year.
