At the end of their 12th year of secondary school, students wishing to enter university are required to take the General Entrance Exam. The Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports has issued a decree to increase the minimum score of the Exam to 480 for entry into universities in Ulaanbaatar and to 400 in provinces.
Nearly 35,000 students graduate from universities annually in Mongolia; 30 percent of them entering a profession in line with the subject they studied.
Currently, there are over 90,000 students attending colleges and more than 150,000 students in universities.
