Nurses from the Mongolian Health Workers Union  announced possible strike action  at a press conference on 6 April. Representatives of the nurses participating in a National Health Sector Forum, announced that they plan to present their demands to parliament, namely: increasing the number of jobs by 9000 and to substantially increase their monthly salary.

If the demands were not met, nurses and other health workers will begin striking and demonstrating from 12 May.
