Mongolia will host the 6th International Morin Khuur Festival in Ulaanbaatar from 30 June to 5 July, the World Morin Khuur Association said on Monday.
The biannual event aims to enrich the repertoire of the morin khuur, a traditional Mongolian bowed stringed instrument also known as the horsehead fiddle, improve the skill of players, and promote Mongolian culture internationally.
During the festival, professional and amateur players from various countries will present classic works on the morin khuur.
Traditional morin khuur music has been recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
