Earlier today (15 March), Presidential Administration Chief of Staff Z.Enkhbold received O Sung Ho, Ambassador of North Korea to Ulaanbaatar. During the meeting, Z.Enkhbold noted that cooperation between the two countries has been steadily developing since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1948. This year, Mongolia and N.Korea are celebrating the 70th anniversary of that event.
Z.Enkhbold said that ‘Mongolia has been supporting any idea and suggestions for keeping peace and stability in North East Asia. We appreciate the planned meeting between US President Donald Trump, and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. As one of the few countries maintaining friendly relations, Mongolia has suggested hosting the meeting between two leaders on its territory.’ In response, Ambassador O Sung Ho said he appreciated Mongolia’s effort for keeping peace and stability in the region and promised to deliver the proposal to Pyongyang.
