On Thursday, August 18, the Civil Hall at the Presidential Office will hold a forum to discuss future exploration of the Tavantolgoi coal deposit. Entitled “How to Use Tavantolgoi in an Efficient Way,” the forum was initiated by citizens who submitted the idea to the Civil Hall. One of the topics to be discussed will be how and when to begin exploration on the Right Tsankhi site at Tavantolgoi.

The state-owned Erdenes Tavantolgoi LLC recently began mining coal at the Left Tsankhi site at the Tavantolgoi deposit. The coking coal is being exported to China, which is paying an estimated USD 70 per ton for it.
