Tomorrow, a Mongolian team led by athlete B.Ganbold will fly to Pyeongchang, host city of the 2018 Winter Paralympics. The event will be held on 9-18 March. The team includes D.Renchinkhand, president of Mongolian Para Skiing Association, coach J.Dashdondog, deputy coach N.Sandagdorj, doctor Sh.Bolormaa and journalist D.Batjargal. Beside this, Ch.Bolorchuluun, sports journalist from News.mn will report about the Paralympics in Pyeongchang 2018.
Previously, there had been much public criticism in Mongolia regarding the proposed team of nearly 20 officials, excluding the doctor and coaches which was to accompany two Mongolian athletes to Pyeongchang.
B.Ganbold, who qualified by competing at the Para Nordic Skiing World Cup will compete in para-Nordic skiing. Previously, B.Ganbold competed at the 2014 Winter Paralympics. He is listed 40th in the 20km Classic Style – Standing race. B.Ganbold has a time of 1:11:08.3.
Mongolia has been participating in the Winter Olympics since 1964.
