Mongolia’s first festival of long-song singers is under way in Khui Doloon Khudag. It has been organized by several groups, including the Culture and Art Board of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the Art and Culture Committee, the National Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance, the Music and Dance College, the Mongolian Long Song Union, and the Ajnai Corp.

At a press conference today, the organizers said 90 singers are taking part in the festival in two categories – amateur and professional. The winners will be chosen tomorrow.

People’s Actor and Conductor General of Moring Khuur Ensemble Ts.Batchuluun, People’s Actor J.Nergui, and Honored Actor D.Tuvshinjargal are judging the festival. Organizers say the festival will be held annually, and the winners will receive grants of MNT5 million.
