D.Sumyabazar, Mongolia’s Minister of Mining and Heavy Industries is due to meet with Russia’s top oil producer Rosneft tomorrow (31 January). The Mongolian government has made a proposal to Rosneft to keep import volumes high; in return, the Russian company has proposed supplying aircraft fuel.
Delegates from Rosneft had requested to postpone the meeting that was originally planned on Monday.
Last week, the Mongolian cabinet proposed to abolish excise taxes on some petrol imports. The cabinet approved the decision to exempt imports of AI-92 and A-80 petrol from excise taxes in order to prevent prices increase. Petrol prices have increased by MNT 20-150 since 8 January.
