Mongolian state-honoured author and ‘poet of the people’ B.Lkhagvasuren underwent surgery in South Korea on 10 January. The poet had been diagnosed with stomach cancer; now, he is recovering after a successful operation.

During his three-day visit to South Korea, Mongolian Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh met B.Lkhagvasuren in a hospital in Seoul.

According to the poet’s family, the treatment costs over MNT 100 million. The Mongolian government has donated a total of MNT 25 million to cover the costs of the operation. In addition, Inner Mongolians have raised CHY 150520, or MNT 55 million, in donations.
