It has been four days since China closed the  Gants Mod border crossing to Mongolia. Chinese enterprises have presented twelve demands regarding Mongolian regulations on international transport to officials.

Drivers who transporting coal bound to China from Gashuun Sukhait have been unable to return for several days, because of the dispute between Chinese enterprises and Mongolian officials. The Mongolian Transport Department has been issuing ‘C’ category international transport documents to enterprises which operate under the country’s laws. Under Mongolian regulation, the enterprises must have professional drivers and pay their social and health insurance. However, companies with Chinese investment complained about paying health insurance for drivers.

Mongolia and Chinese officials have met at the Gants Mod border crossing regarding the issue.
