An earthquake occurred in the popular tourist destination of the Kharmagtai district in the Khuvsgul province in northern Mongolia on 1^st of April. According to the Mongolian Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, the 4.1 magnitude earthquake occurred at 10.42 a.m. The source from Provincial Administration reported that no mayor tremors were felt and there was no damage or loss of life.

Khuvsgul is located in northernmost of Mongolia and is largely  mountainous. The province is named after  Lake Khuvsgul, the largest and most beautiful fresh water lake in Mongolia.
