The Chief of the Standing Committee on State Structure and a member of the working group on the draft law on election, J.Sukhbaatar, has said reform of the election system is as much concerned with election as with what society expects from political parties. Differences among parties are a fact of life, he said, but he expected parties to favor a system that would do good to the country and not just serve their own interests.

“The nation and its interests come first,” he said and hoped that parties would follow up on their unanimity over the need to change the new election system with making responsible changes before the deadline of December 20, 2011.
