MP Ts.Shinebayar yesterday said that he had left the MPRP even though the party leader N. Enkhbayar had asked him to be its Deputy Chief. Posts held no appeal for him, he said, adding that a politician’s only goal should be the people’s welfare. He said this was reflected in the manifesto of the Khamug Mongol Alliance which he leads written on December 17, 2010.

Shinebayar said that he will actively take part in the Autumn session of Parliament which is scheduled to discuss important issues such as the Tavantolgoi project and a draft law on oil.

Asked for his comment on the finding of a survey that the rating of Enkhbayar rose after the MPRP Special Assembly while his did not been raised, Shinebayar said Enkhbayar’s rating had never been his concern. He worked for the good of society, and his success could not be judged by research results.

He favored an election system that would work well for the general good, and could not be manipulated by the two big parties. The Khamug Mongol Alliance supports more power for local governments and protection of human rights, and he would work for both.
