Earlier today (31^st of March), the ‘People’s Special Committee’ movement organised a demonstration against offshore account holders on Ulaanbaatar's Sukhbaatar Square in front of the State Palace, where the parliament, government and the presidential administration are based. S.Batchuluun, the founder of the movement said, ‘Offshore has been a thief for 27 years in Mongolia. Politicians approve Mongolian law for their own interests. Today, some people are richer than Mongolia itself. People ask me ‘Mongolia has MNT 24 billion debts; 7 billion of this is for construction and the rest is the offshore accounts of certain individuals. The key offshore holders are S.Bayartsogt, S.Bayar and Su.Batbold.’
