The program to provide food
for vulnerable and homeless people has been extended by a year and will now
continue until 2013. The Asian Development Bank financed the program while the
Government is responsible for implementation. The Ministry of Social Welfare
and Labor has estimated that the program will need MNT10 billion in 2012.

It covers those who earn
little and are most hit by rising food prices. Minister T.Gandhi has said that
25,000 citizens were served between November 1, 2009 and August 31, 2010 at a
cost of MNT1 billion and 127 million.
