The alarming news is a PM-2.5 reading of over 1000 is being registered in some districts of Ulaanbaatar on winter nights, namley, Bayankhoshuu, 100 ail and Denjiin Myanga.

Mongolian media agencies have studied  the effect of air pollution on human health in cooperation with Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences. They have examined air pollution levels in five areas of the capital namely, Bayankhoshuu, Da Khuree, UB city centre and Zaisan. The results of the study that children living in the most polluted districts in Ulaanbaatar, were measured with 22 micrograms per deciliter of lead in their blood.
