The February rankings have been released by United World Wrestling for men's freestyle. Mongolian wrestler G.Mandakhnaran has ranked in 5^th in the men’s 65 kg, T.Tuvshintulga (men’s 61 kg) has ranked in 16^th and P.Unurbat (men’s 74) in 14^th.

G.Mandakhnaran was denied victory for, in the opinion of the judge 'running away' from his Uzbek opponent in the dying seconds of their bronze medal match in the Rio-Olympics, whereupon, the two Mongolian coaches stripped off and hurled their shoes in protest. This became a global sensation.
