The International Judo Federation has awarded all 14 judokas who ended 2016 as world leaders with an extra USD 50,000 each in prize money. Seven male and seven female judoka received the cash windfall as ten countries were represented at the top of the final world ranking list for 2016.

Two Mongolian female judokas, namely, Olympic silver medalist D.Sumya (57 kg), and State Honoured Athlete M.Urantsetseg (48 kg) are among those to received cash the awards.
