The President of Mongolia is to hold a meeting with journalists to discuss the air serious pollution problem. The meeting will be held tomorrow ( 11th of January) at 10.00 a.m. at Government House.
President Ts.Elbegdorj has called the destructive impact of pollution on public health a “disaster” and appealed for increased cooperation among government agencies to clean the air in Ulaanbaatar.
Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia is one the world's most polluted cities. During winter months thick smog forms, mostly by the burning of cheap fuel in the so-called 'ger district' shanty towns situated on the city's northern hills.
