The Grand Prix Winner of the 15th International Tchaikovsky Competition and soloist of St Petersburg's Mariinsky Theatre, G.Ariunbaatar was awarded the Order of Chinggis Khaan by the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj, at the Hour of the Horse on Monday October 31st.
G.Ariunbaatar said, I’m glad to have received this high state prize on the occasion of the 854th anniversary of the birth of the Great Chinggis Khaan, on the Day of Mongolian Pride. I’m a lucky person who has had good teachers to lead me on my way. I proud to be a Mongolian when I am performing on the international stage. My country is heaven on earth and Chinggis Khaan is Mongolia's pride.
G.Ariunbaatar was born in Bayan-Unjuul soum, Tuv province in 1988. He has two siblings. He completed Khumuun comprehensive school in Zuun-mud city in 2005. He received his bachelor's degree in opera singing from the Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture in 2009.
G.Ariunbaatar is a soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre, the State Opera and Ballet Theatre of Buryatia and the Mongolian Police ensemble ‘Suld’.
The Order of Chinggis Khaan is awarded each year to a person, who has made a priceless contribution to consolidating the independence, sovereignty and national unity or safeguarding and passing down the cultural and historic heritage to the younger generation and promoting Mongolia's prestige globally.
