Asashoryu Dagvadorj resigned as President of the Mongolian Freestyle Wrestling Association after six years. He announced his resignation through his Twitter account and accepted responsibility that Mongolia’s freestyle wrestlers received no medals from the Rio Olympics. Dagvadorj was once one of most successful sumo wrestlers in Mongolian.
Mongolia has represented by a total of 43 athletes at Rio 2016 and received one silver (women’s judo), and one bronze (men’s boxing).
