Earlier today, parliament discussed the appointment of former intelligence chief B.Khurts as Mongolia’s Ambassador to South Korea. The discussion came after the Security and Foreign Policy Standing Committee backed a petition by MPs to reconsider the appointment of B.Khurts yesterday (15 November).

During its regular meeting on 1 November, the Cabinet discussed the appointment of B.Khurts, who until a few days previously had been Mongolia’s chief spymaster, as the country’s ambassador to the Republic of Korea. This appeared a convenient solution, as current Ambassador B.Ganbold had just completed his tour of duty and the post needed to be filled.
