The Standing Committee on Security and Foreign Policy has discussed the appointment of former intelligence chief B.Khurts as Mongolia’s Ambassador to South Korea. The discussion came after MP J.Batzandan presented petition signed 21 MPs. The Standing Committee backed the MPs petition to reconsider the appointment of B.Khurts. Earlier, the proposal to appointment was approved by President Battulga.

During its regular meeting on 1 November, the Cabinet discussed the appointment of B.Khurts, who until a few days previously had been Mongolia’s chief spymaster, as the country’s ambassador to the Republic of Korea. This appeared a convenient solution, as current Ambassador B.Ganbold had just completed his tour of duty and the post needed to be filled.
