A national forum on ‘Sustainable Development-Statistics’ opened today (13 November) at the State House. The two day event is being organised by the National Statistical Office, the State Great Khural or Mongolian parliament in cooperation with the Word Bank. During the forum, delegates discussed statistics regarding the social and economic situation across the country. In 2019, Mongolia will be able to evaluate whether the UN sustainable development goals have been achieved by the government. Having a robust national statistical service is important for accurately gauging success.
The United Nation approved the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015.
