During its regular meeting on 1 November, the Cabinet discussed the appointment of B.Khurts, who until a few days ago was Mongolia’s chief spymaster, as the country’s ambassador to the Republic of Korea. This is a convenient solution, as current Ambassador B.Ganbold has just completed his tour of duty. The Cabinet has given the nod to the proposal and the matter has been sent to President Battulga for final approval.

D.Gerel, also a former ambassador of Mongolia to Seoul, has been re-appointed as head of the General Intelligence Agency. Mr Gerel previously served as Director of the General Intelligence Agency from 2012-2013.

B.Ganbold was appointed Mongolian Ambassador to South Korea in 2012.
