The State Secretary of the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy, D.Khurelbaatar, and the President of Asen Corp of Russia, V. I. Kostyakov, today signed an agreement to upgrade a power station in Darkhan. The German Government has given a soft loan of 12 million euro for the work.

The plant was built in 1965 and needs new turbines and generators. A 35-mw turbine and other equipment would be installed and the transformers’ load bearing capacity will be raised. Asen Corp hopes to finish the work in two years.
